Houston, we have....

a tooth! You can't see the tooth yet, but I can feel it. It is the bottom, right one. The teething tablets still seem to be working good.

Someone spoiled Jagger, rotten! I am not sure who that may have been, I have been accused of it, but I beg to differ :) We have to be in his sight at all times and he likes for me to be sitting in the floor with him while he is playing or for me to be playing with him. Emma and Abby sometimes take over those duties and entertain him! The way I see it, he is the only one I will have, so I might as well spoil him rotten! Although, I would like to get some things done around the house. He doesn't take very long naps, so I don't really have that time to get things done. Oh well, they will wait on me! We tried carrots yesterday and he is like his mama, they are nasty! I have some pictures, but they do not really show what he thought of them! I tasted them and about gagged myself, so I don't blame him! I will try them again today, but I will not force them on him. He LOVES his avocado though. I can't feed it to him fast enough! I also fed him rice cereal and bananas for dinner and he likes those, but avocado seems to be the favorite right now! I think I am going to try and get Jagger back in his own bed this weekend, except I am going to put him in his pack-n-play next to our bed. It seems that he likes to have alot of room to move around at night, and we don't have alot of extra space in our bed. I know I wouldn't sleep worth a crap if I put him in his own room, because my anxiety level is back up. We will see how it goes! I am also trying to get him off of the paci. It seems to be a real problem with the length of sleep he is getting. He is going to be a handful when he gets on the move. He has to touch and explore everything! Watch out wieners!

Nice relaxing weekend

It was so nice to get away this weekend. We didn't feel like we had to do anything around the house, we could just do whatever we wanted. We didn't do alot in Chicago, but that was perfectly fine with us. We went to the zoo on Saturday when we got there and then went to our hotel, which had an amaing view of Lake Michigan. We walked around and then had dinner. We were going to go to the Navy Pier for the fireworks, but we were all tired, so we decided to call it a night! Jagger slept SO good! On Sunday, we had breakfast when we got up at a place called Yolk, so very delicious! Jagger even had breakfast there, some banana! Then we headed to IKEA. I love this store! We bought Jagger quite a few toys for when he gets bigger and a few for now. We also got some other things for the house. So, it was a nice weekend. Jagger also decided, while we were in Chicago walking, that he would let everyone know he was there and that they should look at him! He was using his "outside" voice and everyone was looking at him smiling or laughing! Everywhere we went people would always say how cute he was, or how adorable he is! Aaron says we should audition him for baby commercials or modeling. Someone my mom works with said the same thing. I know he is cute, he is my baby, but when strangers tell you your baby is cute, he must really be cute!

Have a teething baby? Go buy Hyland's teething tablets NOW!! Those things are freaking awesome! Jagger was back to happy baby by Friday afternoon after I started giving them to him. Seriously, they are awesome!

Weight

Guess how much my chunky monkey gained in just 2 days.....7 ozs!! He is now up to 15 lbs. 1 oz. with a diaper on. Aaron and I knew he sure was getting heavy and he is looking chunky to me, so I have been weighing him a little more often and I was shocked at what the scale said today! I also measured his length yesterday and he was 28 inches long. It was on a blanket that we have, so I am not sure how accurate it is, but I am sure it is pretty close.

MISSING

5 1/2 month old, dark hair, dark eyes, super cute, smiley, laughing, happy baby. He goes by the name of Jagger, some call him Jagger man. If you find him, please return him to his mommy.

Can I just say, teething SUCKS. I miss my happy baby. I don't know how to deal with a fussy baby that wants to be held 24/7 and sleeps for maybe 45 min. at a time, even at night. I feel bad for the poor little guy, but man this is exhausting. I have been giving him tylenol around the clock and it still is not working. I am going to pick up some teething tablets today that are supposed to work wonders, please let them!

On another note, he likes bananas! I gave them to him yesterday for lunch and he ate them up! Homemade bananas turn brown and look really gross, but who cares if Jagger doesn't care!

We are headed to Chicago in the morning. We are planning to go to the zoo first and then go check into the hotel and decide from there what to do. Sunday we will stay in the city until around lunch time and then head to IKEA on the way back home. I can't wait!

Happy Anniversary to us!

Aaron and I have been married for 4 years today and it has been absolutely wonderful! I have the best husband EVER. He is so kind, caring, understanding, patient, loving, but most of all a fabulous father. I could go on and on, but I want get to mushy on you :) We have had a few bumps in the road, but he has always stood by my side. I don't know what I would do with out him in my life and I hope to spend many, many, many more years with him as my husband!

He is taking us to Chicago this weekend for our anniversary! I love Chicago! I hope Jagger enjoys it also. We are hoping to go to the zoo there, but nothing else is planned. We will probably go to the beach there, which is super nice!

Jagger had his second round of avocado yesterday and he ate ALL of it, which is the size of an ice cube! He kept looking at the bowl and then he would open his mouth like a little bird when the spoon came towards his mouth! Tomorrow I am going to give him bananas. I also gave him a sippy cup with breast milk in it after his avocado, he didn't know exactly what to do with it at first. Then, he figured out that his milk was in it and was trying to figure it out. He got mad when it all ran out! Our little man is growing up on us :( I think he will have his first 2 teeth very soon. He has been super cranky and not sleeping well at all. I felt of his gums and the area where his teeth are coming in are more raised than they were just a few days ago. Poor little guy :(

First Food

Jagger had his first food today, avocado! He seemed to enjoy it, no faces of disgust! He only ate 4 to 5 bites and wasn't even messy. We will try some more tomorrow! I have more avocado in the freezer and I made sweet potatoes also. Tomorrow I am hoping to make mango, bananas, and carrots. Making baby food is so easy and I am glad to know exactly what is in it. I am also glad I can finally cook for my little boy! I am going to do each food for 3 days before trying something else. I am only doing one meal a day for now and will follow Jagger's cues when he needs more.

Solids

It is getting so close to Jagger starting solids! He seems so interested in everything I eat, so I thought about trying it out this weekend, since we will be starting in 2 weeks anyway, but then I thought about the stinky poop! I am not ready for that yet, so maybe I will just wait 2 more weeks! I went grocery shopping today and picked up some sweet potatoes and bananas and I already have an avocado and mango here to make some baby food. I still can't decide if I want to try the cereal first or just jump right in to the foods. Any suggestions? From what I have read, it really doesn't matter if I do start with cereal, fruit, or vegetable.

We have Aaron's company picnic tomorrow that we are going to, it should be fun! We are also getting started on a retaining wall near the garage and Aaron is building a shed. It will be a busy weekend! I promise to take pictures of the front yard and post them soon! I have been waiting on the grass to come up where you can see the flower beds better, but that may be a while! I don't think I mentioned it in any other post, but we painted the front door red and it looks SO good! Our neighbors have been complementing us on how good it looks!

My mom was here all of last week until this Wednesday. Originally she said she was only going to stay a week, but I think she couldn't say bye to Jagger until she had to! Jagger stayed with her one day when I had an appointment and she said he did really good. I was kind of afraid after what he did to Aaron! We didn't do a whole lot. We went to one of the beaches on Lake Mendota, shopping, and played with Jagger alot! She watched Jagger while me and Aaron did alot in the yard, well mostly Aaron! We went to the outlet mall one day and he got probably enough clothes for the fall, winter, and a good start on next summer! It was all so cheap, I mean shorts for around $3-4, you can't beat that! My mom brought Jagger a little swimming pool to play in and he really enjoyed it! I am going to see about taking him to swimming lessons in about a month.

Just a little update on how I have been feeling. I increased my dose of zoloft a week and a half ago and I can really tell a difference. I am starting to feel more normal again. It has to be a pretty stressful situation for me to have the anxiety I was having. I just have a few sad days a week. I go back to the dr. on Tuesday, so I will see what she says then.

Uh oh....

Jagger went from his back to his tummy and then got up on his knees, like he was getting ready to crawl. Please don't tell me it is going to happen this soon, I am not ready!

Picture

Here is a picture of Jagger from a week or so ago trying to drink from my cup!

Hi all!!

Sorry it has taken me forever to update, my mom is here, so I haven't had much time. We have been working in the yard and it is starting to look so good! I am going to take pictures this afternoon and hopefully post them. We only have the front yard done, but every has commented on how good it looks, and there isn't any grass! We sowed the grass yesterday, so hopefully it will come up soon.

Jagger is getting SO big. Can you believe my little baby is going to be 5 months old tomorrow? I sure can't! He has quite the personality now and is so much fun! People are always telling us how cute he is. We even had a lady in Home Depot stop us and tell us he was just beautiful and he could pass for a little girl! He loves his wieners! He loves to watch Emma and Abby wrestle, he dies laughing! I am going to get it on video one day! He is very much a mama's boy. I left him with Aaron last week because I had to go to my therapist appt. and he screamed the entire time. I think he had a tummy ache and was overly tired, but he sure does love his mama. He loves his daddy too and thinks he is really funny! I will be leaving him with my mom tomorrow, so hopefully he will not scream the entire time for her! She might not want to keep him again!

My medicine seems to be working for the most part. Last week seemed like a really good week and then on Friday, I started feeling really crappy again. I am feeling better today. The therapist last week thought that I should be back to normal in 2-3 months by how I felt last week. The sooner the better because it sucks feeling like this. I have not been as depressed lately, it is more anxiety. When I went to the therapist, she said that alot of women suffer from more anxiety than depression post partum. I think part of my anxiety at the end of last week was my mom coming. She gets lost easily, so I worry about her. Of course, she got lost many times on the way up here and I was so stressed by the time she actually got here. I go back tomorrow to talk to a therapist. I will have to go 5 to 6 times, probably. I have to go back to the ob/gyn in 2 weeks and I have a feeling she will up my dose of zoloft.

So, that is what is going on and hopefully I will have some pictures to post this afternoon or in the morning!
